Fundraising
Post Pals is always in need of people to fundraise, we can make good use of any amount, just 50p enables us to send a postcard and in turn create a smile, and larger amounts can be used to send larger gifts to help through a difficult time. If you would like to fundraise or make a donation please contact us
Donations in memorySamantha's family very kindly asked people that if they would like to make a donation in Samantha's memory, please donate to Post Pals. We have had several donations, and lots of new volunteers who heard about us through Samantha and have enabled us to carry on helping children with Neuroblastoma and other serious illnesses.

Fundraising despite a difficult time
Despite having a tough time recently, Jon Paul and his Mum, Jill, organised a tombola and made an amazing £84 for Post Pals! They were helped out on the day by Rebecca's Mum, Rachel, just 5 days after Rebecca's funeral.
Here's a picture taken on the day.

Jon Paul O- raised £130 by organising and reffereed a sponsored 5 a side football match which was played but his consultant Dr A Cade, other doctors, some nurses and physios from his hospital ward at Deffiford Hospital. He was in hospital at the time but allowed out for a couple of hours for the match
Kate "Dee" Dickinson - raised £105 by doing some tutoring at her local college. The money was used for postage stamps and to send Jack Bradley B to Legoland. This was to be Jack's last trip as he passed away shortly afterwards. The pictures can be seen here.
Paula Bronson - battled the awful weather to complete the Jersey Relay Marathon. One fellow runner said that in 26 years of running it was the worst conditions he had ever experienced. A video about the day can be seen here. The money is going to be used to send a bunch of flowers to the parents of Pals who have passed away, on the child's anniversary during 2009.
Ellie (sister to Pal Harry G) - has raised the most money ever by an individual and the money is still coming in. You can read about the day here.
Good Cause Cards - between September and December 2007 Emma Hoole raised £35.35 through her site Good Cause Cards which allows you to send personalised handmade cards. 45% of all orders are shared between Sands, Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Post Pals, but if you place an order and mention Post Pals, the full donation will be made to us. Some of our volunteers have ordered cards through her and she has come up with fantastic designs based on their ideas.
Paula (Mum to Pals TJ and Samara)- raised £22.50 for us and here Paula tells us about how she raised it;
I make personalised greeting cards for friends and family. I suffer from Crohn's disease and agoraphobia, so I had to have a hobby. I started by having craft days with my children who also love to craft and we love to make cards. My hobby is now a full time hobby and my house is always full of ribbons and glitter...
My cards can say whatever you want on the front and on the inside and I spend hours every day doing them. I sell them for £1 and i donate 10p from each card to a charity or organisations. I have supported a lot of charities and while it’s only a small amount, as they say every penny helps... I decided at Christmas to put my 10p's in a pot for Post Pals and I have raised £22.50 in 10p's so that's a lot of cards I have made!
I feel that my children have had so many smiles through the post just recently that it’s nice to give something back even if it is just a small amount...
I am currently in the process of making a big order of 25 cards all personalised and I enjoy every minute of it, and i am always on the look out for new items and ideas.
CD's and donation
Jack M's Grandparents Lesley and Paul have been busy fundraising for us. A lady donated 500 CD's to them to sell for a cause of their choice, they chose Post Pals and raised £400, which we were all stunned and over the moon with. We were even more surprised when Lesley sent the following email;
"The lady who donated the CD's is called Mrs. Gaze. She is a lovely lady who lost her husband to cancer. We gave her copies of the e mails, one I sent to you and your reply, and she was so pleased that we were able to give the money to a good cause dear to our hearts. We told her of the good work you all do and she has now excelled herself and has given us a cheque to the value of £600.00 which I will send to you along with a copy of this e mail."
This is by far the largest donation Post Pals has ever received, for a long time we have wanted for every Pal and sibling to receive a postcard a week from us but haven't been able to afford to do so (£96 a month), as of June we will now be able to.
A HUGE thank you to Lesley, Paul and Mrs Glaze. You will have created exactly 1080 smiles with your generosity.
Teddy Raffle
I thought I would give it a go to try and raise some money for Post Pals, as they have given so much support to our grandson Jack M.
I work as a midwife, so my husband (Jack’s granddad) and I went through our loft to find some new things that we could raffle to raise some funds. We found some teddy bears that were quite happy sitting up there! I took them into my work and asked staff and patients to buy raffle tickets to win the teddies. We had printed off the Post Pals home page and Jack’s page to show people the good work Post Pals do and what they were raising the money for. Fantastically, we raised £65 and we have been told by Viks that it has paid for a stained glass cookie kit (which had been donated by Supercook but Post Pals didn't have the funds to post them) to be sent to every family.
Carry on with your brilliant work, love Lesley Harrison (loving grandma of Jack M)
Cake Stall

Carol Baker and her daughter Corinne (a Post Pal volunteer) held a fundraising event for the Project on the 10th March 2004 and this is what they had to say about it; We wanted to help raise funds for Post Pals as it is a small organization that is just setting out. Also, whilst charities that raise money for research into treatments and cures are very important, we liked the idea that we would be helping to improve the quality of life for individual children who are suffering. The bake sale was an ideal way to raise money and they have been a success in the past, with lots of hungry people in an office block selling yummy food is bound to work! We would like to thank Heather O'Meara, Chief Executive of Redbridge PCT, for giving us permission to hold the sale and to thank all of those people who contributed items for sale, gave their time to help out, for those who put their diets on hold and of course everyone for their generosity on the day. Grand total £677.50, thanks everyone!
