Story Written 2026

Initially diagnosed in 2023 Faye completed treatment in 2024 before relapsing in 2025. Faye deals with side effects of chemotherapy, radiotherapy (proton beam) and multiple surgeries including failed resection. This include mobility issues (Faye uses a wheelchair), fatigue, being immunocompromised, sickness, bowel issues, growth issues to make a few. She has been unable to attend school since relapse. Some days, especially during treatment weeks, are particularly hard for Faye with one chemo drug in particular causing low moods along with standard side effects.

Update 16th September 2026

I’m so sorry we haven’t updated Faye and Connie’s profile for a while. In truth we’ve had a really tricky few months with lots of changes to treatment for Faye and lots of travel to far away hospitals for trial treatments. She’s had more time in as an inpatient than planned but luckily managed a couple of lovely holidays over the summer, including being away for her 9th birthday last week.

She is in hospital at the moment and our friend delivered in all her birthday post and it was such a pick-me-up for her! She set about straight away to playing with everything

I’d just like to reach out and say a huge thank you to Post Pals for all the letters and gifts that have arrived over the last months. Faye and Connie have loved opening everything – it really does put a smile on their faces. An especially big thank you for all the birthday cards and gifts Faye received this month. People are so kind.

Faye continues to love her birds and wildlife – in particular she’s become a pigeon fanatic and I’m sure our local park pigeons know her by sight now. She loves being creative and has recently discovered the joys of Minecraft world building – she now plans on recording a couple of YouTuber style videos to share her world. So many people have written to Faye and Connie about their animals and they are very excited to share with you that at the end of the month we have a new furry friend joining us – Cora, a two year old dog we’re rescuing from Romania.

Connie has just started in year 1 and, like her big sister, is showing a love of learning and a talent for Maths. She is very keen to start learning about History too. Connie loves riding her bike and swimming. She’s always busy and has a wonderful imagination – she’s currently playing bring mummy to her three baby dolls!

Thank you so much for all your support,
